What dreams may come? |
|
I'm not sure I believe, just yet, in miracles or God,
So what I am about to say may seem a little odd:
It seems I have developed faith, though I cannot explain it,
My open heart is musing: should I even entertain it?
If I look at where I'm going and I look at where I've been,
There is so much I don't understand beyond the things I've seen:
For example: I don't sleep so well - insomniac for years,
Yet, when I share the bed with you, my restlessness just clears.
Every day I get to know you more than yesterday.
I want to walk beside you and I do not know the way.
This used to be important when I lived inside my head.
Time was always galloping and, through my life, I sped.
And since I partnered up with you, my lady, I am calm.
An energetic ring around us keeps us safe from harm.
It's nothing I can see so I sometimes lie in doubt.
But then I fall asleep again; I literally conk out!

This was a poetic portrait written for a visitor to my Fig2 solo exhibition at the ICA in January 2015.
