Secret wisdom
I'm trying to do a PhD.  I don't know if it's working.
It could be it's a masterpiece, but maybe something's lurking:
Something that I cannot see; I'm standing in a breeze,
Invisible just like the rabbit hole amongst the trees.

It's already amazing - it has opened up for me.
It's less about the writing of the actual degree.
It's more about the way I grow.  I'm like a little seed.
I'll be a massive tree one day when I've been PhD'd.

So, though I don't know where I'm going, I am rich and free.
I'm teaching and I'm learning who is you and who is me.
And as I grow and learn and teach I'll find my contribution,
And maybe one day, soon I hope, I'll start a revolution

This was a poetic portrait written for a visitor to my Fig2  solo exhibition at the ICA in January 2015.

What is a Poetic Portrait?
